Rise In Love – Food Distribution
About Rise in Love
Rise in Love is a people-first, Christian-based, all-volunteer charity working to provide support to families and individuals in need in local communities. They utilize 100% of every donation to fund programs that provide food, clothing, education, employment, transportation, shelter, childcare, and more — empowering people to transition from surviving to thriving.
About the Project
Food insecurity touches more lives in our community than we often realize, and Rise in Love is on the front lines of meeting that need — and we want you to be part of it. There are several ways to plug in based on your abilities and energy: serve as a runner, help with registration, work behind the scenes in food sorting, or get hands-on with bagging and distribution. No matter where you serve, you’ll be showing up for neighbors who need to know someone cares. Come ready to work and ready to love our community in a very practical way.

Join us as we come together as a church family to create beautiful no-sew fleece blankets for the women at Renee Jones Empowerment Center and the children we serve through our partnership with Good Knights. No sewing, no special skills, and no experience needed — just willing hands and a heart to serve. Good Knights Bed Building and Delivery
Good Knights is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to serving low-income families in Lorain County through an empowerment model that aids with dignity. Beds for children are constructed through a two-step process: ‘Build Days’ utilize raw materials provided by sponsors and donors, while ‘Delivery Days’ engage the community to assemble and deliver beds to families. Approximately 1,200 beds will be built and delivered in 2026, and over 5,500 beds have been built and delivered to children in need since 2020!
About the Project
Every child deserves a safe, comfortable place to sleep — but for many kids in our community, that’s not a reality. Good Knights is changing that, one bed at a time, and we need your hands to make it happen. Whether you join us for bed making — sanding, drilling, and staining beds using easy-to-follow templates — or bed delivery, where you’ll bring finished beds into the homes of children who need them, you’ll be part of something that truly matters. No experience necessary. Wear work boots if you have them and dress ready to work.

Laura’s Home — Graduation Day Celebration
Laura’s Home is a 12-month residential facility for women and children and is part of The City Mission. Volunteers provide essential resources and hope to the women, helping them rebuild their lives in a safe and supportive environment.
About the Project
During Love Week, our Christ Church team has the privilege of serving at Laura’s Home. We’ll set up, prepare, and serve lunch after the graduation ceremony — a beautiful celebration of the hard work and healing these women have pursued. We are also invited to attend the ceremony itself. Come and witness hope restored.

About the Project
Renee Jones Empowerment Center is a refuge where women who have survived the unimaginable trauma of human trafficking can begin to heal and rebuild their lives. One of the ways we honor their journey is by helping maintain a space that feels safe, dignified, and cared for. Tasks include cleaning and organizing, touch-up painting, hanging pictures, outlet repair, and reattaching floor base molding. School Supply Sorting – Backpack Packing
Every student deserves to start the school year prepared and confident, and you can help make that happen! This year, Christ Church is providing backpacks for students at two local schools — 50 high school backpacks for Midview High School, and 70 backpacks (K through high school) for PEP (Willow Creek). Before we can pack them up, we need volunteers to help sort through the supplies that come in through our Shop and Drop. This is a great way to get involved behind the scenes and lay the groundwork for something that will make a real difference in a child’s school year.
The supplies are sorted — now it’s time to pack! Join us as we fill backpacks for 120 students across two schools: Midview High School and PEP (Willow Creek). Whether a child is heading into kindergarten or their senior year, a fully stocked backpack sends a powerful message — that someone sees them, believes in them, and wants them to succeed. This is a fun, hands-on project that’s great for families and individuals of all ages. Come be part of sending these kids back to school with everything they need and a little extra love tucked inside.
* Students 14 and under are welcome when supervised by a parent.

Shop and Drop – Help Tuck a Child In
A good night’s sleep changes everything — and you can help make that possible for a child in our community! Through our partnership with Good Knights, Christ Church volunteers are building and delivering beds to kids who don’t have one. But a bed isn’t complete without something to sleep under! We are collecting donations of new twin-size sheet sets (fitted sheet, top sheet, and pillowcase) and/or new twin-size comforters in any tasteful color or pattern. Simply purchase and drop them off — it’s that easy. Your donation will go directly to a child who will rest a little more soundly because you showed up. All items must be new. Please drop off by July 19th.
Shop and Drop – Help Fill a Backpack!
Before we can sort and pack, we need to shop! This year, Christ Church is providing fully stocked backpacks for 120 students across two local schools — 50 high school backpacks for Midview High School, and 70 backpacks ranging from kindergarten through high school for PEP (Willow Creek). You can be part of making that happen through our Shop and Drop. Simply purchase supplies, drop them off, and our volunteer teams will take it from there — sorting and packing every item with care. Every pencil, notebook, and folder you contribute puts a child in our community one step closer to a great school year. All items must be dropped off by July 19th so our teams are ready to hit the ground running!
