volunteerhandsWe can help you to “get connected” at Christ Church through Christian service. We believe that God has designed his Church to be made up of gifted individuals, forming one body.

There are immediate opportunities for you to share your time and talent here at Christ Church. We currently have need of people interested in: child development, sound and video production, cafe, bookshop, graphics, talking on the telephone, ushering, and many many more fun and exciting opportunities.

Administrative Support

Are you talented with typing, filing, copying/scanning, phone calls, other office responsibilities and enjoy managing the details? This is the place for you.

  • Office Support – Answering phones, copying, collating, data entry, cutting, folding, binding, shredding, etc.
  • Ministry Support – Adult Learning, Spiritual Growth, The Creative Arts, Family Ministry, Campus Operations, etc.

Adult Learning and Spiritual Growth

Help people grow close to God and each other through Classes, Life Groups and serving opportunities.

  • Environment Team – Design welcoming and effective learning opportunities for adults
  • Generous Life Team (financial) – Strategize and implement stewardship emphasis programs. Requires an interview and background check
  • Life Group Leaders – Lead a Life Group
  • Life Group Coaches – Help develop Life Group Leaders
  • Lord’s Supper Team – prep and/or help serve the Lord’s Supper
  • Teachers – Teach a five – ten week class.
  • Path Partners – Help new members become fully engaged at Christ Church.
  • SERVE – Working closely with our Adult Discipleship department, SERVE is focused on building a network of community partners and volunteer opportunities so that our congregation can live out their faith through serving
  • Prayer Team – Commit to praying for the needs of our church family
  • Men’s Ministry & Events – Preparing and planning for meetings and events

Campus Operations

The Campus Operations team exists to demonstrate how great God is through maintaining our facilities and grounds by keeping them appealing, inviting, and safe.

  • Facilities – Facility maintenance & repair; carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, construction
  • Grounds Care – Lawn mowing, gardening, landscaping, equipment maintenance & repair
  • Housekeeping – Keep our facility clean and well cared for

Guest Services

This team creates a great first impression for our guests. Whether these guests are weekend service or event attendees or seasoned regulars, these ministry teams create a warm, welcoming environment from the parking lot to the auditorium and all points in between. These volunteer teams offer a friendly hand, warm smile, and information that will help guests experience the love of Jesus before they even hear about Him. Consider them the first line hosts of the church.

  • FaithWorks Bookstore – Merchandise presentation, inventory, cashiering, ordering
  • Main Street Cafe – Prep beverages/snacks and serve customers, setup, cleanup, shopping
  • The Kitchen Table – Hospitality services for events; coordinate, serve, prepare food, shopping, cleanup
  • Safety Team – Monitor crowd conditions and provide support in emergency situations both inside and out
  • Parking Lot Assistant – Greet and assist with parking during services and special events
  • Special Events Team – Help serve on special events (ie. Christmas Show)
  • Ushers & Greeters – Create a warm and inviting environment for guests attending weekend and special services

Community Care

This group of ministries work together to build community and care for others facing life’s challenges.

Support & Recovery

  • Outreach Team – Help Christ Church expand the support and recovery opportunities we offer to our community.
  • Team Member – Join the leadership team of one of our support and recovery groups that meets your life experience.

Marriage

  • Family Life Events Team – Plan and implement events/activities for married couples
  • Marriage Coaching – Assist couples in relationship crisis
  • Marriage Mentoring – Mentoring engaged couples
  • Wedding Coordinators – Assist bride, groom, and wedding party as they prepare for their wedding

Spiritual Care

  • Faith-Based Counseling/Spiritual Guidance – Individual spiritual counseling
  • Funeral Team – Setup/serve refreshments, greeter/usher
  • Living Well Team – Plan and implement healthcare screenings and educational activities
  • Spiritual Care and Elderly Outreach – Hospital visitations and nursing home programming

Outreach

  • Christ Church in the City – Help develop Christ Church urban ministries
  • Food for Kids – Packing and delivering food filled backpacks
  • Food Pantry – Serving families in need
  • Garden of Hope – Tilling, planting, weeding, harvesting, delivering food
  • Housing, Rehab and Improvement –
  • International Missions – Christ Church desires to have an impact beyond Northeast Ohio. Internationally, we sponsored our first medical mission trip in 2013 and are building a partnership with Compassion International to reach children and families in need worldwide
  • SERVE – Working closely with our Adult Discipleship department, SERVE is focused on building a network of community partners and volunteer opportunities so that our congregation can live out their faith through serving
  • Sports Ministry – Fellowship through organized sports activities
  • Christ Church Riders – Motorcycle enthusiasts who welcome and encourage others to join them in sharing their passion for Christ and all His blessings while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors

Creative Arts

The Christ Church Creative Arts ministry exists to honor God by developing artistically gifted team members to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth; to be sensitive to the Holy Spirits guidance; to lead the congregation in adoring Jesus Christ; and to prepare minds to hear the Word of God.

  • Administration – Organize files, pull music, upload music
  • Broadcast/Video Team – Record, edit, label and package CD’s/DVD’s/Videos
  • Graphic Design – Create and design logos, images, and marketing materials
  • Interpretation for the Deaf – Sign language interpretation
  • Lighting – Create and enhance atmosphere in auditorium
  • Media – Compile and run presentations for service/events
  • Sermon Research – Research articles and movie clips for sermons
  • Sound – Control sound for service and special events
  • Stage Crews – Set microphones, monitors, props and stage set up
  • Worship Team – Singers/Musicians

Family Ministry: Babies, Kids, and Students

This team exists to love and empower our babies, kids, and students to be champions for Jesus Christ. Opportunities to serve include both directly with babies, kids, and students during weekly services and events as well as administrative behind the scenes positions.

  • Band Member (Students) – Do you have experience and a desire to provide a live worship experience full of energy for students? We have a place for you!
  • Guest Services (Students) – Prepare and run the coffee/snack bar (Students)
  • Registration Team (Play-Venture, Kid-Venture, Students) – The check in process provides security for our children and a sense of trust for our parents. Help us maintain this trust and welcome new families by joining this team. (Ministry Wide)
  • Large Group Leader (Kid-Venture & Students) – Creatively teach a lesson to a large group of kids or students
  • Resource Team (Play-Venture, Kid-Venture, Students) – Spend time during the week preparing lessons, supplies and organizing classrooms
  • Small Group Leader (Play-Venture, Kid-Venture, Students) – Build relationships with a specific group of 10-12 kids or students during small group time
  • Special Events (Play-Venture, Kid-Venture, Students) – This team comes together to create awesome experiences for kids, nursery thru high school outside of weekly services throughout the year
  • Room Assistant (Play-Venture & Kid-Venture) – These volunteers provide hands on assistance to kids during weekly services. They help to manage the flow of activities allowing the small group leaders to focus on teaching
  • Set Design (Kid-Venture) – Design, conceptualize, and/or decorate the stage for special events and teaching topic. If you think creatively or good at creating, this is the place for you
  • Tech Team (Kid-Venture & Students) – Leads the Tech Team to enhance the Bible story and worship experience through sound, lights, video, and pro-presenter without distracting the audience.
  • Tutoring Team – Individual tutoring for students in Jr. High and above

Give men an opportunity to connect with Christ through programs and Christians that they would not normally come into contact with; enriching and changing their lives through the power of Love.

Service Leader

  • Lead the service on one or two Sundays per month at 2100
  • Need to be comfortable operating basic computer/projector equipment, and comfortable talking to a group of men

Ushers

  • Support the Service Leader one or two Sundays per month at 2100
  • Need to feel comfortable speaking/connecting with men of all backgrounds and mental states.

Donation Coordinator

  • Coordinate donation drives. This position does not require coming to 2100 on a regular basis, if at all
  • Would need a computer and email to communicate with ministry leaders

Life Group Leader

  • Lead a small group at 2100
  • Bible study
  • Book study
