“Test God's Generosity ”
Dear Friend,
How generous do you believe God is? The answer to this question is the foundation for all Christian generosity, because our faith is built on two irreducible ideas:
- We are saved by faith in Christ and not good works.
- We aspire to grow souls with the same qualities and characteristics as our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Both of these concepts include the quality of generosity. First, Jesus Christ gives us the gift of salvation; He does not require us to earn it. Second, since Christ’s essential nature is generous, we aspire to become just like Him and live a lifestyle of generosity.
The prophet Malachi spoke for God when he challenged us to test God’s generosity by being generous ourselves. I appreciate your willingness to explore this edgy topic with me, and pray for God to bless you in this adventure of faith we walk together.
