"The CORE Paradigm"
Dear Friend,
Sometimes we assign ourselves impossible tasks and then grow impatient and frustrated because we fail to achieve the impossible. I have a better idea – each one of us has the potential to make soul corrections and to grow strong within ourselves.
We learned in Stoltz and Weihenmayer’s remarkable book, The Adversity Advantage, that we improve our quality of life by working on our CORE:
- CONTROL – Self control is the greatest of all controls.
OWNERSHIP – We do well when we take ownership in every life situation to make the world around us better and more noble.
REACH – Even when life does not cooperate with us we continue to reach for our best self and fullest potential.
ENDURANCE - All good things in life require a persistence through difficulties and obstacles.
This CORE paradigm reminds me of Paul’s advice in 1 Timothy 6:11 & 12:
“Pursue righteousness, goodness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.
Fight the good fight of faith.”
